I can’t stand the way the world keeps rushing downhill,
But I won’t believe that this is it.
Waking up to a world that doesn’t accept that you exist
Changes the way that you look at things.
Fuck your positivity. That just isn’t me.
I’ll put an honest smile on when things change for the better
I can’t stand the way the world keeps rushing downhill,
But I won’t believe that this is it.
For every time I’ve just wanted to run, I’ll remember,
We’re all just a little fucked up, but they’re all wrong.
I’ll set aside my differences when they realize that we have none,
But for now, I’ll find content in the things that I believe in.
Throw your beliefs in my face, you tell me just to have faith,
But I’m too old for your bedtime stories.
I’ve outgrown your fucking stories.
I can’t stand the way the world keeps rushing downhill
But I won’t believe that this is it.
For every time I’ve just wanted to run, I’ll remember
We’re all just a little fucked up, but they’re all wrong.
One day, things might get better
Someday, we’ll walk this path together
But you’re the one who drew the line
Now I’ll decide which side is mine
I won’t let you change me.
I can’t stand the way the world keeps rushing downhill
But I won’t believe that this is it.
For every time I’ve just wanted to run, I’ll remember
We’re all just a little fucked up, but they’re all wrong.

Four months, what a pointless waste of time,
When you consider all weeks of hell I had to suffer through for you.
You played with a straight face and finally filled me in,
On every false fucking pretense I submitted to.
And if you’re walking in my way,
I won’t pretend that we’re okay.
You lied enough to sink this ship,
But I won’t drown today.
I’m never looking on the bright side anymore.
I can’t put my trust in anyone,
Because everyone’s dishonest.
I don’t think I’ve ever been this negative or angry
A whole fucking year of frustration and regret.
You showed up where you said you wouldn’t
And told me to forget everything you said.
And when I hear the words you say,
I won’t pretend that I believe.
You lied enough to sink this ship.
But I won’t drown today.
I’m never looking on the bright side anymore
I can’t put my trust in anyone.
Because everyone’s dishonest.
You think that you can change the world,
But all you do is speak in pointless metaphors.
You can’t help anyone,
So, look yourself in the face.
You’re dead inside.
I’m never looking on the bright side anymore
I can’t put my trust in anyone,
Because everyone’s dishonest.
I’ll never live life as an optimist,
But at least I’m not a two-faced fuck.
You were so dishonest, You’ll always be dishonest.

You Haven't Lived Once

I’m beginning to think that this is it. For all we know,
Progression has slammed to a halt. I’m left to fear for the kids
That we try to raise on these same values that we’re distorting
More and more every day.
So, Raise your glass and waste your life away.
Live for the times that you can never remember,
And it’s like you never lived at all. And you’re
Responsible for all the choices you make
But you’re acting like you’ve never heard the word before.
I don’t think you understand the meaning of blame.
Your life is empty.
How can you justify your actions
By simply claiming that you don’t remember them?
You glorify regrets. You admire mistakes.
And living without consequence.
But you’re just a privileged fuck that assumes
That you deserve everything you’ve never worked for.
And you’re just a privileged fuck that removes
Yourself from consciousness just to fit a norm.
A new mother, a deadbeat father
A night in jail, or fucking drowned in the water.
When she said no, you know you shouldn’t have fought her.
But that’s the motto, you all live without honour.
I can’t relate to this anymore.
But now I know what I’m fighting for.
I don’t need you to understand
I’ve made up my mind.
I’ll never justify my actions
By simply blaming them on my will to forget.
No glory in regrets. I learn from my mistakes.
And accept the fucking consequence.
